KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all field survey operations and teams
- Assign tasks to Field Surveyors and Field Assistants; monitor daily progress
- Review and verify survey data, measurements, and field reports for accuracy
- Ensure compliance with survey standards, SOPs, and project specifications
- Liaise with clients, engineers, and project stakeholders on field activities
- Identify and resolve technical issues or discrepancies in survey data
- Maintain and manage survey instruments, vehicles, and field equipment
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports for management
- Conduct safety briefings and enforce HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) protocols
- Train and mentor junior surveyors and field assistants
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Advanced proficiency in total station, GPS/GNSS, leveling instruments, and survey software
- Strong knowledge of land survey principles, GIS, cadastral mapping, and boundary demarcation
- Excellent leadership, team management, and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, or similar drafting/mapping software
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, maps, and survey plans
- Strong report writing and data management skills
- Knowledge of land acquisition laws, revenue records, and survey regulations
- Problem-solving under field conditions with minimal supervision
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
- Timely completion of survey tasks within the approved schedule
- Accuracy rate of field data and survey reports (≥ 98% acceptable error margin)
- Zero HSE incidents or safety violations during field operations

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct topographic, cadastral, boundary, and control surveys in the field
- Operate and maintain survey instruments including total stations, GPS/GNSS, and leveling equipment
- Record field measurements, observations, and survey data accurately in field books/digital devices
- Set up and verify survey control points, benchmarks, and reference stations
- Perform traverse surveys, leveling, and coordinate computations
- Demarcate land boundaries, plot corners, and right-of-way alignments
- Assist in preparation of survey sketches, field notes, and data transfer to office
- Ensure all survey work meets project accuracy standards and specifications
- Follow safety protocols and report any hazards or discrepancies to the supervisor
- Coordinate with Field Assistants for equipment carrying, pole holding, and support tasks
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Practical knowledge of total station, theodolite, GPS, auto-level, and related equipment
- Understanding of traverse computation, coordinate geometry, and leveling techniques
- Ability to read and use topographic maps, revenue maps, and land records
- Familiarity with basic GIS/CAD concepts for data input and plotting
- Good numeracy skills for field calculations and data verification
- Physical fitness for outdoor fieldwork in varied terrain and weather conditions
- Basic report writing and field documentation skills
- Teamwork and ability to work effectively under supervision

REPORTING TO
Field Surveyor / Field Supervisor
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist field surveyors by carrying and handling survey equipment safely
- Hold ranging rods, prism poles, and staffs at designated positions as directed
- Clear vegetation, obstacles, or debris from survey lines and sight lines
- Assist in hammering pegs, marking points, and painting boundary marks on the ground
- Carry and transport field equipment, bags, and materials between survey locations
- Assist in setting up tripods and other instrument accessories under supervision
- Perform manual labor tasks required for fieldwork including digging for peg placement
- Follow all instructions given by the Field Surveyor and Field Supervisor
- Maintain cleanliness and basic care of equipment assigned for use
- Report any damage to equipment or safety concerns to the supervising surveyor immediately
REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
- Basic literacy (reading simple instructions and signing attendance) preferred
- Physical fitness and stamina for outdoor work in varied terrain and weather
- Willingness to learn and take directions from supervisors
- Team player attitude with a cooperative and responsible approach
- Familiarity with rural/field environments is an advantage
- Punctuality and reliability in attendance and task completion
- No fear of heights, water bodies, or challenging field environments
